Fitter Image Exercise Program
Hoag’s Fitter Image program offers a variety of physical activities that are designed to be safe and appropriate for individuals currently being treated for cancer or who have completed treatment, and are provided in a non-competitive and supportive environment. Each class is designed to promote a sense of well-being and is tailored to each participant’s ability.
Yoga – Stretching and breathing exercises to help patients improve strength and flexibility, calm the mind and soothe the body.
T’ai Chi – The slow, gentle movements of T’ai Chi provide moderate cardiovascular exercise and can help participants reduce stress as well as increase their strength, flexibility and balance.
Pilates Mat Class – A gentle series of exercises and breathing techniques that promote strengthening and relaxation.
Fit Ball – Strengthening, range of motion, and exercise utilizing the stability ball and exercise bands.
Each of the above Fitter Image classes is held in Hoag Cancer Center Auditorium. For more information, please call 949/7-CANCER (722-6237), or see our monthly calendar for complete class listings with specific dates and times.
