Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma
Background
Lymphoma is a cancer of B or T cell lymphocytes that most often occurs in lymph nodes, but can be found in any tissue or organ. Lymphoma the 6th most common new cancer diagnosis in both males and females, and the 6th most common cause of cancer death.
Hoag Cancer Center offers its patients highly-experienced clinical staff and technology, utilizing the latest therapies in the treatment of lymphomas.
Clinical Staff
Hoag Cancer Center's board certified medical oncologists and hematologists and oncology certified nurses, are available to provide evidence-based care in a professional and caring manner. This includes the latest in combination chemotherapy and monoclonal antibody therapy. We are one of the few sites in the Southern California with expertise in the delivery of radio-labeled monoclonal antibody therapy. Multi-Disciplinary Case Conference
Twice a month, challenging cases are presented to a board of medical and radiation oncologists, pathologists, surgeons, radiologists and nurses for discussion of the best treatment options available.
Radiation
The Hoag Cancer Center's radiation therapy department houses the latest technology for delivery of radiation therapy, including conformal radiation therapy to Tomotherapy. These state-of-the-art technologies allow for extremely precise targeting of radiation therapy.
Integrative Complementary Care
Hoag Cancer Center offers a wide variety of support groups for patients, including several that are disease specific. Hoag Cancer Center offers classes ranging from yoga, to meditation and Ta'i Chi. Complementary personal counseling is also available through our on-staff social worker and psychologist.
Education
The services at the Cancer Center include on-on-one education, a resource library, an informational hotline at 949/7-CANCER, and educational events in an intimate setting of support group or evening symposia.
