To help inform and console patients and family members living with a terminal illness, Hoag's Web site will now include important information on end-of-life care and the end-of-life care program here at Hoag. Visitors to the site can read about comfort and care, the next steps or visit the grief, loss and bereavement resource library. You can also research other support services provided at Hoag, all in the comfort of your own home.
"Many people don't realize that the staff at Hoag are here before, during, and after the dying process," explains Dr. Paul Selecky, Chair of Hoag Hospital's Healthcare Ethics Committee. "We hope that the information in this site can help bring an understanding of the dying process for our patients and their families."
The staff at Hoag Hospital knows that this particular period of time is one of the most difficult times you and your family will have to face. If you or a loved one are living with a terminal illness, you are not alone. Hoag Hospital's end-of-life care program can provide helpful information to guide you through the difficult process.
