Construction Update for Hoag Hospital
In 1992 Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian set in place a vision for the future by signing a development agreement with the city of Newport Beach which outlines the framework for growth of the hospital's campus.
Over the last 13 years, the community has witnessed the transformation of Hoag's campus from a small community hospital into an emerging regional medical center. In 1995 the hospital saw the expansion of the Emergency Care Unit. By 1999 Hoag Conference Center and adjacent parking structure opened along Pacific Coast Highway and the community watched as the landscape of Newport Beach changed with the opening of the 320,000 square-foot Sue and Bill Gross Women's Pavilion.
When the Sue and Bill Gross Women's Pavilion opened in October 2005, Hoag unveiled a leading-edge medical facility to Southern California that stands ready to serve the needs of the community with its revolutionary, integrated approach to healthcare.
There are many more projects that will take shape over the next few years including a new and expanded Childcare Center for employee's children and additional expansion of the emergency room. Beyond that, plans turn to an Outpatient Services Building on the lower campus to provide for increased cancer, neuro and imaging services, a South Building on the upper campus for the expanding Heart and Vascular Institute and increased critical care capabilities as well as much needed parking facilities.
The timeline below outlines some of the construction projects planned on Hoag Hosital's campus over the next few years.
2006-2007
2008 and Beyond
- A South Building will provide for the expansion of cardiovascular and critical care services.
- Seismic upgrades and renovations continue on the West Tower.
- Emergency Room expansion.
