Jim Rice
Vice President, Facilities Management

Jim Rice, FACHE, is Vice President of Facilities Management at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. In this role, Mr. Rice oversees all facilities-related operations including communications, security, support services, food and nutrition services and safety. Additionally, he is responsible for Hoag Orthopedic Services, one of the centers of Excellence, which includes the JointWorks Program, the Institute of the Spine and rehabilitation services.

Mr. Rice joined Hoag in 1999 as Director of Materials Services and was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Support Services before his current position. He is a Fellow at American College of Healthcare Executives and was a member of their regent advisory council for the Southern California region from 2002-2007.

Before working at Hoag, Mr. Rice worked as associate administrator for an Orange County Hospital and has been employed in the healthcare industry for 20 years.

He received his bachelor’s degree of science in health policy and administration from Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) and his masters of business administration at Pepperdine University. Mr. Rice also volunteers his time for Penn State University as a recruiting volunteer.
