About Project Wipeout Project Wipeout Characters

In the summer months, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, the beaches of Newport and the two adjoining cities of Huntington Beach and Laguna Beach, have an average attendance of more than 4 million people. Most enjoy a day at the beach without incident. Some may suffer minor injuries like cuts, stings from jellyfish, or severe sunburn. Others are not so lucky. Serious neck and spinal cord injuries and deaths by drowning occur every year at our beaches and beaches around the nation. These tragic accidents are not limited to beginners, but are suffered by experienced swimmers and surfers as well.

Project Wipeout’s mission is to save lives and prevent injuries by developing and disseminating beach safety information
