The first Women's Wellness Center in Southern
California is now open at the Sue and Bill Gross Women's Pavilion.
Dedicated to helping women become more active participants in their
health care, the Women's Wellness Center takes an integrative approach
to nurturing and healing a woman's mind, body and spirit.
Integrative medicine as healing-oriented medicine takes into account
the whole person, including all aspects of their lifestyle. At the
Women's Wellness Center, both conventional (Western medicine) and
alternative therapies will be used to promote good health and an overall
sense of well-being.
Each patient receives a complete health assessment and disease-risk
profile. Based on the findings, the center works with the patient to
develop a diagnostic treatment plan to address immediate and future
healthcare needs. General screenings cover heart health, lung and breast
cancer, genetic testing, thyroid dysfunction and several other areas.
In conjunction with the assessment and screening programs, the
Wellness Center will offer educational classes on a variety of health
topics including stress reduction therapies, healthy cooking, metabolic
and nutritional profiling, heart disease, osteoporosis and menopause
management.
Through comprehensive screenings, treatment and educational
programs, the Women's Wellness Center will serve patients and the
community by teaching them to grow and develop their knowledge of
health and wellness, and more importantly, empower women to live a
healthier and disease free life.
